Who we are
This website, nickapublishing.com, is run by Nicka Publishing, based in Burtonsville, Maryland, United States. It presents the children’s book series Discover Africa Through Its Prints. If you have any question about this policy or your information, please write to us through the Contact page.
What we collect
We only collect the information you choose to send us through our three forms:
- Availability updates (Home page): your name and email address.
- Contact form: your name, email address, the type of inquiry you select, and your message.
- Educator access request (For Teachers page): your name, email address, role, school or organization, location, and, if you choose, the grades you teach and how you plan to use the materials, plus your agreement to the classroom-use terms.
The date and time of each submission is also recorded.
We do not ask for payment details, and we do not collect information from the children’s activities on this site. The puzzle, quiz, map, and cloth cards run entirely in your browser: nothing you do there is saved or sent to us.
How we use it
- To send you news about the book and its availability, if you signed up for updates.
- To reply to your message.
- To review educator requests and send the free teacher materials.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their own marketing. We do not show advertising on this site.
Why we are allowed to use it
For availability updates, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. For messages and educator requests, we use your information because you asked us to respond or to send you materials.
Services we use
The website is hosted on Lovable, and its images and other site files are delivered through Lovable’s content delivery service, which uses Cloudflare. Form submissions are stored in a secure database provided through Lovable’s cloud service (Supabase). The site loads the Fraunces and DM Sans typefaces from Google Fonts. These providers process information on our behalf and may store it in the United States or other countries where they operate. Our hosting provider may also record basic, aggregated visit statistics, such as pages viewed, device type, and country, which do not identify you personally.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting and security services may set essential cookies called __cf_bm and __dpl to protect and deliver the site. The site also uses session storage in your browser to remember your scroll position during your visit. It does not use local storage. These technologies are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
How long we keep it
- Availability updates: until you ask to be removed, or until the updates are no longer sent.
- Contact messages: up to 2 years after our last exchange.
- Educator requests: up to 3 years, so we can keep track of the materials we have shared.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to see the information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop sending you updates. Write to us through the Contact page and we will respond within 30 days. If you live in the European Union or another region with data protection laws, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This website is meant to be enjoyed by children with their families and teachers, but our forms are for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use the security protections provided by our hosting and database services, and only Nicka Publishing can view the information submitted through the forms. No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
